& blood tests
If you would like a private prescription for HRT, you will need to have had a consultation within the last year. If you have not been seen at a clinic we are unable to provide your prescriptions for HRT.
After your initial consultation we can provide you with a private prescription for your HRT.
In order for us to continue safely prescribing your HRT we recommend that you have a follow up consultation at around three months after the start of your treatment and annually if your symptoms are stable. By following these guidelines, we can ensure you are receiving the most appropriate and effective treatment for your health needs.
HRT
If you have been prescribed testosterone you will need a blood test before starting and three months after you have started your treatment. If you remain stable and well on your dosage, then you will need annual testosterone blood tests.
Testosterone
Blood tests can be helpful for assessing your response to treatment and other health markers during the menopause transition. It is important to note that not all women will need a blood test. Blood tests are often not helpful nor advised by guidelines in the diagnosis of menopause.
We will consider your individual needs with regards to blood tests to determine the most appropriate diagnostic tests if any. The cost of blood tests is in addition to your consultation.
